Welcome to Winning Duncan Over! You will find in these pages the story of a Shetland Sheep dog who spent 8 years as a puppy mill stud dog before being rescued. Duncan's rescue is only the beginning of the story however. A great deal of time, work, love and patience is needed to turn an abused puppy mill dog into a happy and healthy pet, and that is the story told here. If you would like to read Duncan's full story I recommend that you start in the Archives at the left with February 2007 - when it all began for me, Duncan's guardian. Thank you for visiting Duncan's site, and please tell a friend!

30 Days of Dog

So a friend of mine does a "30 Days of Blog" challenge every June. I told him I didn't think I'd have enough material to do a post for every day in June. But then I had an idea, and you can help me out with it! We'll do a photo contest. Send me in pictures of your dog or dogs with the following information below and I will post them.

The post with the most comments and the end of the month wins! (Ok, so the posts at the beginning of the month have an unfair advantage that way, so I won't determine the winner until July 5th.) As a special incentive, I will donate $30 to the Kansas City Sheltie Rescue in the name of the winning dog!

So send in your photos with your information, and then send a link to Winning Duncan Over to all your friends to vote for your fuzzy pal! You can also send your friends Duncan's email address so they can enter their fur kids too! (Or just email them this post!)

Photo Requirements:
  1. Adoptable dogs and rescued dogs will be the first priority to be posted. After that it will be first-come first-serve.
  2. Send your cute, funny, amazing, or just plain great pictures of your beloved pooch!
  3. Shelties are always favored, but any breed can be submitted so long as he or she is your own beloved pet.
Please Include:
  1. Your name and location (city, state, country.)
  2. Dog's name, gender, and age if known.
  3. If the dog is adoptable, please include the URL for the website where the dog can be viewed. We want to help get his or her picture out there!
  4. If you have adopted a rescued dog, tell me his or her story if you know it and how you found each other.
  5. Tell me a little about your dog; what he likes or doesn't like, a funny story about him - anything you'd want someone to know about him. If your dog is adoptable, tell me what kind of home he is looking for.
  6. Email your picture to Duncan at rescuedmysheltie@yahoo.com or just click on the link of Duncan at the mailbox above!
So send in those pictures and pass the word around too! I've got 30 days to fill here!
