Welcome to Winning Duncan Over! You will find in these pages the story of a Shetland Sheep dog who spent 8 years as a puppy mill stud dog before being rescued. Duncan's rescue is only the beginning of the story however. A great deal of time, work, love and patience is needed to turn an abused puppy mill dog into a happy and healthy pet, and that is the story told here. If you would like to read Duncan's full story I recommend that you start in the Archives at the left with February 2007 - when it all began for me, Duncan's guardian. Thank you for visiting Duncan's site, and please tell a friend!

Pals

I know this site is for Shelties. But my Shelties have a pet cat. (A more accurate statement would probably be that my cat has two pet Shelties.) So here are a couple pics of my Gracie Girl. Gracie and the Shelties get along nicely, although she can be a little snotty indignant thing at times. That's a cat for you though. They've never been great pals or anything, but they get along just fine. We've never had any issues. Recently, I have noticed that Gracie has started "head butting" Debbie. Any cat people will understand that term. For those who are not cat people, Gracie will walk by Debbie, sniff her, and then lower he head, and push her forhead up against Debbie, rubbing against her. The cat "head butt" is ususally a sign of affection, and when I saw Gracie do it to Debbie (several times now) it was so cute! Debbie of course is not quite sure what this is all about and doesn't understand that Gracie is saying "Hello! I like you!" Too funny.

Too cute! It is certainly a sign of affection- my cats usually just tolerate Bea and Byrdie too, but there is an occassional head butt.
Love the pics of them in their costumes- check out Bea and Byrdie's pics over on their blog- they love to dress up.
Debbie looks like she is possibly a Sable Merle like Bea- I see a few spots on her face that indicate that mutation- Bea has just a few spots, but i have seen some shelties with a lot of merling in their coats.
