Welcome to Winning Duncan Over! You will find in these pages the story of a Shetland Sheep dog who spent 8 years as a puppy mill stud dog before being rescued. Duncan's rescue is only the beginning of the story however. A great deal of time, work, love and patience is needed to turn an abused puppy mill dog into a happy and healthy pet, and that is the story told here. If you would like to read Duncan's full story I recommend that you start in the Archives at the left with February 2007 - when it all began for me, Duncan's guardian. Thank you for visiting Duncan's site, and please tell a friend!

Happy Duncan

Duncan is on Sheltie Nation again showing off his "Sheltie Smile!" This pic was on our trip to Michigan last year. Shortly after this pic was taken I had laid down in the grass with Duncan to enjoy the sunshine. After a couple minutes I noticed that Duncan was rolling around happily in the soft turf on his back, all four legs in the air. He really enjoyed himself on this trip and turned out to be a great traveler!

On another note, Debbie has started to play with Duncan! Duncan has always like to play with other Shelties. But when Debbie first came home, she wasn't much interested in playing with him. So he kindly let her be. Debbie progressed quickly to enjoying playing with me, but I had begun to think she would never really want to play with Duncan. But the other night I was sitting on the deck while the dogs were out, and Debbie all of a sudden launched herself off the deck and raced up the hill towards Duncan. They bounced at each other and played tag and wrestled around for about 10 minutes. I was laughing really hard to myself, but tried to stay quiet so I wouldn't distract the kids from each other. Debbie has initiated playing with him a couple other times since then too. I'm so happy for them!
