Welcome to Winning Duncan Over! You will find in these pages the story of a Shetland Sheep dog who spent 8 years as a puppy mill stud dog before being rescued. Duncan's rescue is only the beginning of the story however. A great deal of time, work, love and patience is needed to turn an abused puppy mill dog into a happy and healthy pet, and that is the story told here. If you would like to read Duncan's full story I recommend that you start in the Archives at the left with February 2007 - when it all began for me, Duncan's guardian. Thank you for visiting Duncan's site, and please tell a friend!

Duncan Sits

Yesterday was my 28th birthday. And for it, Duncan and I slept in. Very nice. Here he is all comfy on MY pillow. Oh well, he's cute. We also went to Petco yesterday and got his costume for the costume contest on the 9th at the LL Dog Rescue Alumni Picnic. I won't give it away yet, but I will give you a hint... he and Little Debbie are going to be "Petco Pals."

We also spent about 20 minutes yesterday and seriously worked on our "sit." I've not been very consistent on this. Every time I tried Duncan was nervous and fearful and skittered away from me. But after our experience with the groomer, I learned that Duncan gets better the longer he experiences something. I was fearing that he would get worse, get more scared and upset. But no. We spent some time on it, and he definitely understands what "sit" means now! He can do it! We're still working on his confidence that I am not asking him to sit because I'm going to hurt him or anything. But it's coming along!! Yay Duncan!

Yay! He's really coming along, and I can't wait to see the costumes!

An artist friend of mine has 'tagged' me, it's a blogging game to help us all get to know each other better, and I'm hoping you'd like to play along. The information about the simple game can be found on my blog at http://eleighinspiration.blogspot.com. It's really easy and fun so i hope you'll agree!
