Welcome to Winning Duncan Over! You will find in these pages the story of a Shetland Sheep dog who spent 8 years as a puppy mill stud dog before being rescued. Duncan's rescue is only the beginning of the story however. A great deal of time, work, love and patience is needed to turn an abused puppy mill dog into a happy and healthy pet, and that is the story told here. If you would like to read Duncan's full story I recommend that you start in the Archives at the left with February 2007 - when it all began for me, Duncan's guardian. Thank you for visiting Duncan's site, and please tell a friend!

Featured Adoptable - Marigold

Meet Marigold! I met her last week at the Adopt-A-Pet days at Petco. Merigold reminds me of my Duncan in many ways. She is also a puppy mill girl and is also a little shy, although she is not as shy as Duncan was the first time I met him. She was out of her kennell for awhile and visited with us. She actually looks a little like my Duncan in the face a little too. She does need come patience and love. You can see her here on Petfinder! Won't someone adopt this sweet girl?

I recieved some sad news today about Marigold. Glenn sent me an email with the following:

She hadn't been eating very well so we did an Xray Friday and it showed a mass in her abdomen. I took her in for an ultra sound today and her spleen has excess blood in it but the real problem is her liver has some metastized lesions and they are not operable. They said they would recommend she be put down but we brought her home and will let her enjoy life away from the puppy mill until we feel the time is right. We don't expect it to be very long though as her appetite isn't very good.

It's just not fair. The poor girl. Please be thinking of her and pray that she enjoys the time that she does have.
