Welcome to Winning Duncan Over! You will find in these pages the story of a Shetland Sheep dog who spent 8 years as a puppy mill stud dog before being rescued. Duncan's rescue is only the beginning of the story however. A great deal of time, work, love and patience is needed to turn an abused puppy mill dog into a happy and healthy pet, and that is the story told here. If you would like to read Duncan's full story I recommend that you start in the Archives at the left with February 2007 - when it all began for me, Duncan's guardian. Thank you for visiting Duncan's site, and please tell a friend!

More Love

I have a confession to make. I was a little worried when I got Debbie that, because she seeks out attention while Duncan does not, I would find myself favoring her. I was afraid that she and I might become closer, leaving him out-regardless of how unintentional. However, last night I realized (or remembered rather, I knew this) that love multiplies, not divides. I looked at Duncan last night when the three (four including Gracie) of us got into bed, that I loved him even more than I did before we got Debbie. The beauty that I see in Debbie has only served to distinguish the beauty that I see in Duncan, and my love for each of them magnifies the love I have for the other. Even though Duncan does not really enjoy snuggling and cuddling (although he puts up with my kisses admirably)he still enjoys walking with me. He still sleeps close by, and he still likes to go with me where ever I can take him. I still see that Sheltie smile and that wonderful look of love in his eyes when I glance over at him in the passenger seat in the car.
