Welcome to Winning Duncan Over! You will find in these pages the story of a Shetland Sheep dog who spent 8 years as a puppy mill stud dog before being rescued. Duncan's rescue is only the beginning of the story however. A great deal of time, work, love and patience is needed to turn an abused puppy mill dog into a happy and healthy pet, and that is the story told here. If you would like to read Duncan's full story I recommend that you start in the Archives at the left with February 2007 - when it all began for me, Duncan's guardian. Thank you for visiting Duncan's site, and please tell a friend!

Summer Picnic

Saturday was the LL Dog Rescue Reunion Picnic and Duncan, Debbie and I all went. Debbie again did beautifully on her leash, and Duncan did wonderfully among the crowd of people! He handled it like a pro! I was so proud of him. We got there around 11:00 and spread out a blanket in the shade. We ate lunch and visited with a great many other rescued dogs and Shelties. There were so many beautiful Shelties! Duncan was having a great time saying hello to the other dogs, and Debbie was busy trying to get as much attention from her foster mom Barbra as she could. Very cute.

Here's a pic that gives you some idea of all the people and many dogs who were there. And then there's Debbie and I.
They wore their Petco ball caps and looked so cute. Duncan's bandanna says "Adopted With Love." I wish I had known I was going to get Debbie when I bought that at the Kansas City Pet Expo. I would have gotten two. But Debbie looks incredibly cute in her checkered bandanna too.

Debbie slept in her kennel on Friday and Saturday nights. And then on Sunday I put her on the bed with Duncan and I. I turned out the lights and she moved around to settle down and get comfortable...and promptly fell off the bed. Poor baby. But we got her back up and she settled down, nudging her little nose into my belly occasionally. Silly girl.
